I want to quit my job, and i already hopefully have another job, but i dont want to give them a 2week notice? |
what should i do? 2 weeks notice is a courtesy, you don't have to. They wouldnt give you 2 weeks notice if they fired you now would they? Don't give them a 2wk notice....DUH Just tell your boss, goodbye at the end of your shift. There is no law saying you have to give them 2 wks notice. (unless you have signed a paper to that effect.) Just give them the notice...you don't want other potential employers to call your old people and have them give a bad reference to you. Depends on whether or not you ever want to work there again. If you don't plan on going back leave them without any notice. The 2 week thing is a courtesy no an obligation. Make sure that tyhe other job is on lock then quit the other job. you dont need to give a 2 week notice. if you dont, dont use them as a reference for a new job, and dont put them down as past employment. just give them the 2 week and get it over with. dont wanna walk in and quit and not get the new job, and not be able to go back to where you were because you just walked in and quit. better to put in a 2 week just incase you need a backup plan. 1) wait until you have an offer from your potential employer 2) give your present employer the 2 weeks notice. It's the professional thing to do. Never burn a bridge if you can help it. It can come back to haunt you. Besides, it's not nice. My last boss was a schmuck but I still was professional and gave them 2 weeks notice because I don't want to lower myself to that level. |
