Most companies require you to be 16 years of age. This has to do with child labor laws. If they operate any equipment, pallet jacks, loaders, trash compactors-you have to be 18 to operate that equipment. In most cases if you are under 18 they will just restrict your usuage of the equipment. Contact the store or inquire online. You need to be 16 in most states. If you are considering going to college, I highly recommend working in as a buss boy now, and then moving into a server position when college begins (if your state allows it at 18 instead of 21). Serving through college is a great way to make money while working part-time and attending classes, studying, having fun, etc. Ex-restaurant manager, server, and bartender Wrong catagory!!!
