My employer treated me like crap, should I give them a two weeks notice, I found a better job.? If it is a career job, than yes. If it is some BS job like a restaurant, who cares. It depends on how you are paid. If you are paid weekly, then a week's notice. If monthly, a month's notice. And if you have found a better job, go for it !! That is probably not a good idea. Remember, your new employer is watching. If you treat your ex-company like that, they will wonder when you are going to do that to them. Besides, burning bridges is never recommended. collect you next check and just go to work elsewhere. It depends on the situation. If there is already animosity between you and the employer, and they are not likely to give you a great reference anyway, then go ahead and bail. If you still have a shot at a decent reference, then you should stick it out and finish the two weeks notice. Just keep in mind that ANY profession is about contacts. Someone you work with now might be in a position to help you in your career later, but not if they consider you to be unprofessional. Your new employer would probably prefer to see you give 2 weeks because they would probably like to receive the same benefit. if you found a better job then ya |
