I quit my job after 11 years 3 months ago, should I go back? |
I quit my job after 11 years, and have not found my niche yet. Did I pre-jump the ship, should I go back? Or say goodbye and just move forward. Another alternative is to offer to do consulting work for them. That would give you more flexibility and bring in cash while you find your niche. There is absolutely no shame in doing that, and if they are too sensitive to consider it then you know you wouldn't be welcome back. Source(s): Taken more than 3 months for me to find a new career..... It all depends. Why did you leave? If you left because you felt undervalued and underappreciated and you had to deal with being, as i call it, "allergic to workplace B.S.", then it is time to move forward. But contrary to popular belief, they say you should not go forward until you find something else. Did you pre-jump ship? Yes. If you wait until you find something else, then it's OK to leave. Then again, the way things are going out here, trying to find something else to offset what you're doing now is like finding a needle in a haystack! i would try to find a better job first then if i had no other choice i would go back. and most likely they would take you back if you had been there for eleven years but you never know maybe your boss is holding a grudge. Cooks aboard fishing vessels in alaska make 250-300 a day wanna go Depending on the terms when you left, they may not want you back. You'll have to eat crow. As a boss, I may not re-hire you knowing that the next opportunity you get may make you quit again. Try moving on. |
