I am currently searching for a top rated culinary school in the chicago area has anyone gone to a school there or know of any that will help me furthur my career as a pastry chef?

Work in a bakery for a few years and while you are working, ask all of your colleagues where they went to school.
Pastry is really hard, early in the morning, and not for everyone, so before you spend the rent on school do yourself a favor and get a job first.
