On my job application to be a waitress,i know they won't hire me becuase its my first job: LIE ON experience? |
I mean can I put down some of the volunteer work that I've done? This is my first job and I'm a minor, but I want to keep my application competitive. What to do? Don't lie because if they ask you about it in an interview you will have to lie again! Also if they check references they'll be a lie too.!! Honesty is always best! Explain that it is your first job but you are a quick learner and want to learn about the business. Mention all your work experience as that is all positive experience. Everyone has to start somewhere and having a new member of staff who hasn't got preconceived ideas about how the company is run is often a good thing! Good Luck!! Source(s): I'm a retail manager involved in recruitment! You should write a resume with all of your volunteer experience. Then put all the reasons someone would want to hire you. Example, dependable, hard working, honest,etc. Good Luck. They can trace lies and you shouldn't lie anyway. Include the resume with the application, that is much more professional. just tell them a key to be a good waitress 1. you have a service in mind 2.you do it because you like to talk to people and love to see them enjoy eating 3. happy to work as a good w waitress,not because of the big tip Yes, put all of the volunteer work experience that you have had. Do not lie on your application! If you do, they can come back on you for this, even if you have worked there for years. |
