Unless you are hired by a 5 Star Restaurant, most places will start you at $10 per hr. All of the Culinary Schools refrain from telling you that.
after school you will make the same as a cook because that is the only job you will be able to get. Being a chef takes years of experience but the schools will not tell you that.

I did not go to school and learned at the school of hard knotts (on the job) and I make over 60k as executive chef.

I recommend school for those who want to climb the ladder faster but if you are unsure you want to do it do not waste the money. Get a cooks job first and see if you like it.

good luck
