Should I quit!??!! and HOW?? |
I will give you quick details/the negatives 1. Been there for 4-5 weeks 2. Hired me as a bartender, yet only serving? 3. 30+ minutes from my house 4. Seniority gives me the crappy sidework that leaves me there for 2 hours making $2.65 5. GM acts like he is doing ME a favor by cutting my section in half I don't need the money right now, I just wanted bartending experience because I paid to go to bartending school and received my degree. I am pondering a no-call no-show (obv. wouldnt use them as a reference) or telling them Friday I want to leave the restaurant biz for a while. Any advice please??? Is the manager easy to talk? Have you talked to your manger about your sithuation? It may help if you show them that your bartending show can draw more people and result a good business for them. If I were you, I would look for another job, then quit this one. Or you could start bartending even though they didn't tell you to do so. But I dont suggest you to do it, you dont want to leave there with negtive reputation. Dont let the frustration or negtive emotion beat you down. It happened to me before, I was a waiter, seninorities took better section and left me sections with poor tips/more side works, I watched and learned what a manager should do at a restaurant, then got hired as a manager at another restaurant. If you can turn a bad sithuation into an opportunity, you will be more successful everytime you get a new job. GL Just leave find some where else give a 2week notice don't what it to come back and haunt you You're not getting paid nearly enough for that bull sh**. If you don't need the money much then I don't understand why you're even wondering. Won't you feel guilty just leaving them high and dry though? They're really gonna be in a pinch.Try and give them at least a wk. (typically it's ethical to give 2 wk's. notice). It won't be too painful since you know you're almost out of there. Trust me. You're not the 1st or last person to ever quit there. Most rest.'s have an insane turnover rate. If you absolutely refuse to show your face there ever again please at least call or e-mail them ASAP (not that I'm recommending this route though!:) Consider yourself really lucky that you don't have to keep the crappy job like a lot of people do. Think about that whenever you start tripping. It will all be just fine. It's not as big of a deal as it feels like right now. Years from now you prob won't even remember the name of the restaurant! give 'em 2 weeks notice don't tell them why you are leaving i lost u =] |
