Waitressing? |
what can a waitress expect to make in a night with tips.. on the typical monday.. and friday..from the lowest reasturant.. to a 3 star and 5 star. It really depends. Monday night typically has the lowest volume of customers where Friday night typically has the highest. It also depends on what type of restaurant you are working for. If you work in a sports bar or pub of some sort on Monday night during Monday night Football you can expect to make a minimum of $75. Same would go with a fine dining establishment on a Monday night. The amount of tips you make depends on a couple of things.... 1. Menu pricing. 2. Table count. If you work in an establishment that lets you take more than 3 tables then in general your tips will be greater.....IF you're a good server and can handle that kind of pressure. 3. Amount of other servers on the floor. The less there are the better it is for you. Usually. 4. The clientele of a restaurant. I have been in the restaurant industry for more than 10 years and have worked in "Hole in the wall" bars to fine dining restaurants and hotels. Bottom line.....Expect to make an average of $60 per shift. it just depends on location. if u go to a litttle hick low budget area, you might not make that much. but if ur in a jumping area, you can make so much money inwaitressing especially if u r bubbly...... Well, really depend on what type of restaurant and location, high class rest. with good location like downtown with rich neightborhood, you could walk out as much as $400-$500 a night, mid-class would be $100-$200, low one would be $30-$70. Depends, the bigger the city, the more tourism, the seasons (spring will be your worst) lots of factors. Our city is 100k populated and gets a good amount of tourists. I've worked in different restaurants and this may not be what you will make on average but just giving you the stats to arrange onto your own personal environment. At a low restaurant or a diner, I made about $20 on a monday, and about $35 on a friday (Avg. price per guest: $4) At standard or 24hour rest., I made $30 on a monday and $60 on a friday (Avg. price per guest: $13) Bar and Grills or franchises, I made $40 on a monday and $80 on a Friday (Avg. price per guest: $20) Fine dining i made $100 every monday night, and $150 on Friday nights (Avg. price per guest: $40) I'm working to move up to the option of a larger city perhaps, one with a 5 star restaurant. In many you rent your tables but make out in the end with $600-$1000 on any night, and usually only work 3-4 days a week. |
