How much should I pay a Private Chef (live in)?

How much should I pay a Private (live in) Chef that will be cooking for me 365 days a year...I don't want to pay anymore than 50 grand a year...but I want TOP QUALITY delicious five star food...and I hear of people hiring immigrants (not trying to be funny) for MUCH less...

Are you looking for "top quality delicious five star food 365 days a year?" (if so holy crap)

You may want to dig into your pockets a little deeper.

For cheap-er live in help try hitting up local culinary schools in your area for graduates- i'm sure someone will take the bait.
Where do you live?
I suggest you pay him what he's worth and stop comparing. Remember, you pay peanuts and you'll get monkey.
This person will never get a day off?????? Are you the Grinch???

If you have to ask on this forum, you can't afford it anyway.
a live in chef that lives with and cooks for you 365 days a yr is called a wife.
If you want TOP QUALITY you are going to have to offer a good salary, but vacations with or without pay and possibly insurance, if you aren't offering some type of insurance or paid vacations you should plan on paying higher salary. NO one will work 365 days a yr. Just not possible. Do you not expect the person to have a life??
If you don't expect them to have a life, you probaly can't afford to pay that much.
If you can afford to pay 50 grand a year for a chef, then I would think you'd be looking at a placement agency and not talking to a bunch of strangers on the internet about investing this kind of money.
When my friend worked for Malcolm Forbes, he was required to be on call 24/7 and was paid $350 a day.
You can pay whatever you want but if you cheap out you might not get good food.
Why not hire a culinary school graduate? They won't have enough experience to demand a high wage.
