What do you do if you quit a job without notice and you want it back? |
What do you do if you quit a job without notice and you want it back? I think it depends on how you performed while you were there, and the circumstances in which you left. For example, I run a bar/pub, and one of my employees left this spring with no notice. He emailed me on a monday morning saying that his father had had a heart attack on friday night, and was moving back home to be with him while he recovered (several states away). He was one of my best employees and I was really upset to see him go, but understood the nature of the situation meant that he COULDN'T give notice. He's now moved back to town (goes to school here), and I'm rehiring him in sept.... So, totally depends on the circumstances under which you left, and if they see any value in taking you back while knowing full well that you may leave them stuck again. Just feel bad, because it ain't gonna happen. Move on. You permanently burned that bridge. Get some kneepads...you're gonna have to crawl.....unless it wasn't that bad when you left, you may be able to talk your way back in. Good luck with that one. If it's in the food service business, they have applicants for every day of the week. You should have a really, really, really good excuse and then that's not going to guarantee your job back. May as well hang this one up and get another. Hang your head, admit you made a mistake & say please may I have my job back? All depends if you 'burned your bridges' when you left your previous job. All depends if you have good connections with the company you left AND they want you back. Good luck! You better hope that they need you even more than you need them right now. |
