What is the difference between full time and part time jobs? |
In the United States. Generally a full time job will be 35 hours or more a week. 40 hours a week is truly full time (but many people put in more than 40 hours). A part time job will be less than 35. Some companies, though, define what is full time or part time & as long as it exceeds what federal guidelines it's ok). Another difference is that full time employees are eligible for benefits, better benefits or lower cost benefits (I guess I should say better-subsidized by the company benefits). Vacation, sick time, etc. can also be better for full time employees. full-time is 40 hours a week. Part time is less. Full time is 40 hours a week or at least 35 if they have a shorter standard week. Part time is anything less. Usually over 20 hours a week gets you benefits like medical and 401K. Full time=40hours a week Part time=20 hours a week part time requires less time you need to clock in per week part time is less than 32 hours. full time is usually 40 hours (or more) full time includes all benefits and health insurance if the company provides it. full time is anything thirty two hours or more, part time is position that is under thirty two hours |
