Read all the menus from every restaurant. Look for menu price and gratuity rules. If the food is expensive and there is a gratuity charge, that will be your key restaurant. Avoid a restaurant with elderly clientelle. Not to say they all tip low but they will be your lowest tippers on average. Also it will not just be the restaurant that offers good tips, but it is 80% what you do. A good restaurant will still leave a bad server in poverty.
The restaurants don't give good tips the customers do. The more expensive the restaurant the more you will get. You will also need to have serving experience or restaurant experience to get a job there. Good luck!
In general, the more expensive, the better the tips, and you definately need experience for those jobs. However, if you want a decent amount of tips, try the local favorite spots, any busy sports bar, and steakhouses (the busier, the better;try Texas Roadhouse).
