How to write an email for a job im interested in??? |
Ok so a guy came into my job today offering me a position thats available and he needs two people to fill this position. He hands me his business card and i tell him im definetly interested... now i want him to remember me so i was going to write him an E-mail with an attached resume letting him know im interested in the position in which they are hiring. Im stuck on how i should begin to email. theres so much i want to say but i dont want to screw up this opportunity...WHAT SHOULD I DO??? HOW SHOULD I BEGIN THE EMAIL Not trying to be critical, but use proper business letter writing techniques, proper grammer and spelling. Capitalize items such as I, and DON'T SHOUT. If you have a good resume and his card has a mailing address.. SEND it via the postal snail. One of the worst ways to talk to a potential employeer is via email. Too easy to screw up in emails. If you insist on email (or is it e-mail) then send it attached as a .pdf or a word document. Your email should address him respectfully, and remind him of the conversation you had and the job offer that he gave you. Thank him for the offer, let him know you are still interested and that you have attached a resume for him to look at. Thank him once again for taking time out of his busy schedule to read your email, and that you hope to hear back from him soon. You will want to write a cover letter (in email form). You'll want to remind him of your discussion and that you are interested in the position and as to why you would be a good candidate for the position. Google search sample cover letters and look for one that provides an overview if you've already met with the employer. |
