What questions are asked at job interviews and what are the best answers...details please? |
I'm 15 and its at subway and its my first job and I'm kinda shy so I want to be especially prepared ;) Don't sweat it. Its not exactly a 'test' per-say. Most job interviews for younger people are fairly ' common sense ' based questions. Use good judgement, and be your self. I don't know if you allready did this, but it's best NOT to ask for a job opening over the phone. Allways go in person. there probably gonna ask why u wanna wrk here what would u do if had an angry customer do u have any experience and do u have any questions oh and always ask a question it makes u look real interested A place like subway will go one of two ways for the interview. Since they are franchises, the owner may just decide you look like a decent kid and give you a chance. Or they will give you what is called a behavior based interview. That means they will ask you questions that start with "Tell me a time when" or "tell me about a situation in which" and you will need to answer from a personal point of view or an experience that you have had. There is no such thing as a right or wrong answer in the interview. But there are bad answers. Things to be aware of: Do not, under any circumstance, say "wow, that's a tough question" Don't try to smile or flirt in anyway to diffuse a bad answer or an answer you don't think goes over very well. Be polite Speak up, especially in a place like that, you will need to show that you can speak clearly, concisly and project your voice. It's okay to be shy. When they ask you why you want to work there you can say "Well, I think I have a great background (baby sitting or whatever you have done in the past) and a good work ethic. And I think this experience would help me hone my people and customer service skills." That way you are talking up your skills in a way that the manager or owner wants to hear, but you are also acknowledging that you want to learn a few things from them. Your first interview can be a bit unsettling, but in due time, you will get them down and be an old pro. |
