Getting a job out of state? |
So I was thinking about moving home to Iowa in a couple months, but I'm in Seattle. How could I get a job without interviewing? (I obviously couldn't interview from such a distance) Ummm, sure you can interview from a distance. It's called a phone interview. Plus, you can always get on a plane and go home for a weekend. You just tell employers that you send your resume too that you will be in the area XYZ dates and would be willing to meet with them. Then call them two days before you leave, verify they got your resume and offer to "drop in" to introduce yourself. Source(s): 8 yrs interviewing people over the phone and from a distance. Get a job in a chain store in Seattle. Then see if you can transfer to one in Iowa. I moved to a different state and arrived with a job. I first looked around at what was available there. Then I called and spoke to a supervisior. We then did a phone interview. You can't without an interview...start making a list of all the places you would like to work, get your resume ready in the cover letter state you will be moving to Iowa, and mail them all out. See if you get any call backs. |
