Is it really dangerous to deliver pizzas? |
I would like to casually make a little extra money in addition to my full time job, so I have been thinking about delivering pizzas since the pizza place literally next door to me is hiring drivers. My friend says it is too dangerous though, and that they probably won't even let me because I am a small girl. Is this true? I know I read that pizza delivery is one of the most dangerous jobs in America... but just how dangerous is it? It's not dangerous if you have a conceal carry permit! lol It all depends on how dangerous your town is. If you fell comfortable being out alone in the dark going to strangers houses, then yes, but if not, then don't do it. Yeah, don't do it. It can be dangerous to show up at strangers' doors. You could get robbed, or worse. And your car insurance company considers using your car for delivery work-related, so you may have a problem, or even get sued, if you ever have an accident. Yes havent you seen all the pizza guys that have been killed it depends on what neighborhoods but you are a girl and guys could take that as an advantage so recomend no to do it. Yes, it is highly dangerous! Roughly one in five pizza delivery persons get murdered every day! That's a lot! In ranking the most dangerous jobs in America: 1. Pizza Delivery Guy 2. Crack Whore 3. Telemarketer 4. Musician 5. Librarian Why don't you get a real career? Try something safe like a professional skateboarder. It's safer than driving around in one of those killing machines. ME!! And the statistics provided to me by JESUS!! I managed in pizza places for several years. Once there was a problem in which the kids took part of the dollars they were supposed to give as change back to their drunk dad, so he thought my driver had robbed him. Another time our driver actually did get his money taken from him. If you're delivering in the hood, yeah, bad things will happen and they don't tip there any way. In nicer neighborhoods, there aren't usually any problems. Find out how good the store is about the driver's security. Ask the manager: do the driver's make cash drops? do they take orders that are called in from cell phones? Is there a good driver log in/log out system? (when you're gone too long they should call you on your cell or your last delivery), do they give cops that come into the store in uniform free small pizzas? Cops in uniform at the store gives people an idea that the cops are close if they get the idea to rob a driver. Cell phone is necessary. |
