Becoming a chef HELP ME? |
how can i become a chef? maybe a pastry chef?? HELP ME Apply to a culinary school. There is finacial aid if cost is an issue, that you won't have to pay back until 6 mon. after you graduate. There is a long road ahead to become a chef. It's not like it is on Hell's Kitchen. Depending on your personal situation and your ultimate goals in the industry there are several paths you may take, but first and foremost is to get yourself into a real kitchen and see what suits you. There are too many want to be chefs that just go to a culinary school and get out thinking they are a chef. I am certainly not downgrading the culinary degree as it is very helpful, but I have owned several restaurants and the degree is just not that high on my list of determining factors when placing a chef. I have started a web site that may be of assistance for you if you want to learn more about the business it is for food and beverage people by food and beverage people so check out: the culinary section at http://www.foodandbeverageunderground.co... If I can be of further assistance drop me a line via the site contact page and I will do what I can. Good luck and cheers! Scott http://www.foodandbeverageunderground.co... just go to a simple cooking class. |
