What should my career be? |
Okay, so i LOVE to cook and bake. When i see an interesting recipe I feel like I need to go get the ingredients and make it right away! It just excites me.. but I hate the idea of being a chef in a stressful, fast-paced environment in a restaraunt kitchen. I like to take time making my dishes, not doing 80 billion different things at once. So what are the other options besides a chef in a restaraunt could I be?? There are many opportunities to cook without being in a restaurant setting. Inns, bed & breakfast places, presonal chef or home health aide are but a few. Sous chef. Basically, you are second in command and you manage and prepare all the ingredients. You could open your own bakery. You could invent new recipes and hire a couple of people to help you. most restaurants are fairly stressful in the kitchen. I would suggest becoming a pastry chef, as the pasrty chef ussually works at their own pace every day as things are pre-ordered and you know what you are facing each day. Another option would be to work for a mom and pop shop that's very laid back. Good luck! where ever your heart lies.. there be stress no matter what you do.. but i guess if its your passion. then accept it.. pastry chef would be for you i guess, you seems very detail kind of person, perhaps very meticulous as well. cake decorations, icings, and the smell of freshly baked cookies and cakes.. or go learn as much as you can, then invest in yourself, set up a shop, a small shop that only sell certain amount of cakes and such, and people will q for you! or a online cake shop, where friends can refer their friends to you. bake birthdays, weddings, anniversary cakes. no matter what you do, just do where your heart says You can be a chef in the military and get paid alot more. |
