Job help...i need one? |
i have applied at i would say 30-35 difforent jobs...and only one in the past 2 weeks had called me for an interview....and anyway...im 18 if i can't get a job soon i am just another lazy bum....i want a job because i am always broke...what am i doing wrong You have to convince them that you really want to work . Call them back to find out how the application is going . Maybe the better choice is to apply with a construction services agency . Look in the yellow pages for employment agencies and look for ones that send you out on temp jobs . They get you started and get you some experience . If you show up on time and ready to work , many will offer them full time permanent later on . Nothing wrong your're doing since one job that you applied asked you for an interview go on and tr your best in it. The Interviews are not that hard becuase mostly it talks about your personality or what u would like to be? Make sure you are following up on your applications. Give the company a call about a week after you turn it in and ask if you can schedule an interview. Sometimes the thing that will make you stand out from the pack isn't necessarily on your resume - it's your persistence. Good luck!! There are several things that employers look at when they hire someone. The first and most important is: How are you dressed? If you don't look like someone that would work there, they won't even consider you. Make yourself look like the people who work there, and you can at least get your foot in the door. Once you have your foot in the door...you have to sell yourself to the employer...but you don't want to be the one to monopolize the conversation. I always get hired because I look professional, I let the HR person do all the talking giving them the opportunity to steer the conversation, and I answer every question positively letting them know that I can do whatever they ask. I also let them know that if I don't know the answer, I go out of my way to find it. You have to set yourself apart...know what makes you special and hammer those points home in the interview. For example, are you great with computers? Numbers? Music? Working with people? Artistic? Etc. Sell yourself right and you'll get every job you want. Lastly, if there is a job you really want, research the company first. Let the HR person know that you are familiar with their company and their products and you will make a very good impression.
