Please suggest what I should do? |
I applied for a job in Texas and I live in Michigan this was in April 2007. I was interviewed over the phone by manager, co-worker and senior manager. The senior manager said I need to travel on my expense for final interview. He said they are not comfortable hiring someone without meeting and I got to this level of hiring process because I deserve it. Since I told him I can't travel on my expense and they didn't want to pay. He said he will let me know in 10 business day but I never heard from him and I knew that. Then later in April I hear from HR saying that changed the position to higher level for which i'm not qualified. I never did call her she is the one who called. Then in July I see the job opened again and I didn't apply for it because I knew they had enough people who applied for it. I'm really interested in this job . So I email the manager who interviewed me and he said there another position open of same title and work an Sounds to me like they are jerking you around....They need to pay your travel expenses.....If they are not willing to do so, then you do not want to work for them....Think about how they will be to get a raise out of them.... Yes, call and let them know that they interviewed you previously and that you are still very interested in the position. Explain that you could not afford the trip before but you are able to do so now. Good luck. If you really want the job you would travel there come hell or high water. You cannot expect to be hired over the phone or by internet. Sure, the initial process can be handled this way but you really have to get off your butt and show commitment, go and meet the people and sell yourself. Type up a thank you letter for the phone interview to the highest person in the company- HAving a physical letter makes them open it and gets your name in front of thier faces again- YES you may have to go there but get them talking about you more and they may be a bit more eager to interview you again- BUT IF you are going toget the job and move there will be some expenses- Bite it off and go for it- it may be worth it! http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templa... |
