Is a chef a stable career? |
i might want to go to college to be a chef as a career but i'm afraid it's not stable, if i were to live alone by myself, and i want to earn money, i'm not sure if i will make enough money for a living and paying off cars, house bills, tax, etc. how do you think? NO, it's not a stable career. sure, there are cooking jobs everywhere but the pay is not worth all of the work you will be doing. cooks/chefs make anywhere between $8-13/hr average. you can make that sitting on you a**! on top of that why go to college for culinary; a culinary education is expensive-the average cost for a 2YEAR ASSOCIATES is $50,000 PLUS INTEREST! if you must do this GO TO YOUR LOCAL COMMUNITY COLLEGE TO STUDY CULINARY! IT IS NOT WORTH ALL THAT MONEY BECAUSE IT WILL NOT PAY OFF!!!! do your research on this career choice..do not believe the hype and what the food network wants u to believe. This is hard work and it is not worth it! WORK SMART NOT HARD! Source(s): i graduated from culinary school; i also worked at the ritz-carlton. Yes. http://members.forbes.com/forbes/2000/03... Well becoming a chef is a challenge and the work enviroment is hot and fast and stressful but the pay is good and the satisfaction of being good at your job is nice I was a chef for 22 years and I lived ok on that career it is a job that requires patience and ability to work under pressure, you must have a love for cooking and art because a good chef knows the are one of the same recipe conversion, cleanliness, being able to comprehend a menu working with deepfryers broilers flat tops. Eggs are the first thing you should try, take a nonstick eggpan add cooking spray, heat add your egg, when your egg is almost done tilt your pan slightly forward now with a light flick of your wrist flip!!! GOOD LUCK MY FRIEND Rob |
