What job would be more enjoyable? Dishwasher at a restaurant, or a McDonalds employee?

I would say washing dishes at a restaurant. I used to be a server and sometimes I would get pissed off at customers and go in the back kitchen and chat with the guy who cleaned dishes. He was tuning out to some music and didn't give a shi* and was just doing his job. He didn't have anybody watching over him so I would do that.
Are those you'r only two choices, b/c there are more jobs enjoyable than Dishwasher or a McDonald's employee.
Given the above two options, I'll chose Mcdonald's.
It all depends on how ambitious you are and whether or not you enjoy working with other people....

As a dishwasher, you will certainly be getting your hands dirty and kept busy doing menial tasks, but your brain can zone out a bit......

At McDonalds you will probably have more responisbility and people contact and more than likely receive a reference you can use to step up in the industry...... and better all-round experience, ie. handling cash, food, etc.

Is there a big difference in what they are offering pay-wise?
I'd go for Mcdonalds..
Dishwasher in restaurant is better you get free meals, most of the time its good food. If you have a pet you can save the meats for your pet. If you are good employee promotion will come easy. You can become server and earned good tips.
It depends on your personality. If you are a highly sociable person, McDonald's is the place especially if you are working cash. If you can handle a more quiet atmosphere, then dishwashing is the way to go. I have done the "coffee serving" thing and dishwashing. Dishwashing was my preference. The chefs cooked anything I wanted (most was free).
