Wants the normal time from going for a job interview to knowing you have got a job?

there are no rules
you'll never know till the boss tells you that you have the job
usualy you know at the end of the job interview
Depends. Maximum I would say 2 weeks.
It honestly depends on the company. Some places are in a hurry and can have you hired within a week! Others take two weeks.

The process is usually as follows:

1. Submit application/resume
2. 2-4 days later, recieve call for interview
3. Attend interview
4. 2-3 days later, recieve a call back for either a second interview OR if they are in a hurry, you get informed of a job offer over the phone.

If there is a second interview, it could take another three to four days. Sometimes there is a phone pre-screen before you even get into the interview! The average hiring process is estimated at about 4-10 days give or take. For an executive position or a position where a background check is necessary, this can take longer.
It really does vary from hours to days - depending on several factors, like how many people are being interviewed as this can sometimes be days not hours! Also sometimes people offer the job to the best candidate and then if they do not accept they can try the next best, etc, etc. Unfotunately this means that you can be waiting longer.

Have you had the interview - did they give you an indication of when they would let you know and how - I use this as one of my questions at the interview.

Hope it goes well - Good Luck
It varies on how many more interviews they are doing. I have been informed on the same day, but equally i have waited as much as a fortnight- but more than that ain't looking hopeful. You should always ask at the end of the interview 'when can i expect to hear from you?'
With all the jobs I have been offered I have been phoned up very shortly after the company had finished interviewing the final candidate - ie. usually the same day. If you don't hear within a couple of days, best chance is you didn't get it.
It can be anything from a couple hours to a month or more. A couple weeks is probably typical.
