What is the average waiter to customer ratio in a restaurant? |
What is the average waiter to customer ratio in a restaurant? At most nice restaurants a server gets 3-4 tables, some restaurants do more but to be able to provide the quality of service the less tables the better, now that doesn't mean less money its actually more because you're able to give better service w/ fewer tables. When you have too many you run around like a crazy person and the guests get pissed. Source(s): I'm a waitress and have been for 11 years Not high enough! It depends on the restaurant and the server. Usually it's 3-4 tables per server. This being anywhere from a 2 top to a 6 top. That is why there are hostesses to cycle through the servers so they do not get sat one on top of the other. However if it gets busy and the restuarants don't expect it and have sent all their servers home, they usually have to pick up multiple tables. I worked a night where it was me and a new server and he had 3 tables and I had 8. Then you can have a server with one huge party. It really depends. Experience I am a waiter a Carrabba's and for us the average is 12 per server. |
