I need to find a job i have not worked for 6 years left hubby . were should i look for work? Waitressing... tips vary depending on location and how well the business is doing. I worked at a resturant and some of the waitresses there would make upwards of $200 just on tips... on a slower night it would be somewhere around the $80... but thats not even including your hourly wage. I think that would be a great start. If not, try to network. The best way to earn a job is to get up and fill out applications on the spot. That way, you will have a bigger chance at speaking with a manager and explaining your situation to them. Fast food chains should always be considered an option when looking for a job. Some people fear working at these places because they feel as though it will make them look less superior. But the same green money you will make working in someone's office will be the same green money you would make working at a fast food chain. It will get the bills paid! I'm not saying you should work there forever, but seeing you've been out of work for so long, employers would look at you as a person that never had a job; almost as you're starting over. So keep your head up! You can do it! Start with a temp agency . They are not for long term but they are great as a job re-entry path . They can place you in a variety of positions and eventually , you and some employer will really click and they will offer you full time permanent . Good luck ! > go to a temp agency that will set you up with a temp-to-hire. it sucks in the begining but if you like where they place you you will work extra hard to keep the job. if you dont like where they put you , then you just leave when the "temp" part is over and start in a whole new area. the agencies are pretty good at working with you. my mom did it after not working for over 20 years. she had some crappy jobs, but found one she loved and they kept her on when her "temp" part was done. its easier then leaving resumes everywhere. |
