How can i get a job on an oil rig?

How can i get a job on an oil rig?

Look in the union news letter.
I know that in Canada, especially northern Canada, there are a lot of those kind of jobs. In Alaska, too, as well as fishing boats that pay well for seafood fishing. Look into those northern areas up there in the Yukon, like Dawson City and Yellowknife, etc. Also Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. Supposedly, the pay is super. You could work up there for 5 or 10 years and retire with a lot of money.
You find an Oil company and ask if they're hiring, drop off a resume or ask for an application.
Unless you have any oil rig experience you will be the grunt guy or rig pig. Be prepared for long hours, intense lifting, little time off, bad weather, etc. The pay is good but the life that follows is not all that appealing. Some live in camps for months at a time and you can be moved where ever the jobs are. Housing in Canada is extremely high and most times there is zero vacancy.
