Quitting job at starbucks? |
I have been working at starbucks for whole month. But now I have to quit in order to go to college. The all situation changed when I got on-campus housing and I cannot drive from school to work, that would be too much hassle, especially with parking and the fact that I also would have to work on saturday and sunday. I know I should give 2 weeks notice but it was already too late when I got letter from college about housing. I did best what I could, I notified my boss one week ago, as soon as I found out about housing, and asked her for transfer. She said she cant do it, especially now. Week later she hired new employees. Now my question.... Should I tell my boss now that I quit effective on Monday, or wait until Sunday, my last day of work and then take immidiate emergency leave of absence and later quit? I am afraid to tell my boss now expecting that she could fire me now to prevent from working rest days, I do not care about returing there in future days, its only starbucks- you make it sound like your leaving the white house- do what makes you happy it is a pee on job any way! focus on your studies and your future. Tell them you're going to work for Dunkin Donuts Tell her now sounds like you don't care one way or another you will still work next few days if you want it is not like people are lining up to work at Starbucks they will probably try to get you to stay at least part time. tell 'em now I think u should tell ur boss what happened.. If she hired new ppl it shouldnt hurt her!! But dnt make urself look bad jus tell her that u cant work there anymore and thats that! Lol.. i'm confused now! Perhaps why not have a talk with your boss? I'm sure she should be understanding enough that this turn of events is not your fault and that you can't help it. Ask her if she has enough manpower to cope and whether if it's ok for you to quit Monday. Anyway, whether or not she fires you on the spot doesn't make a difference since you want to quit anyway, unless you are losing money in doing so? I would work one more day, but I would snag a bag or two of coffee and a couple of mugs. them thermal ones. Christmas will be around the corner. Keep one for yourself, and when you go back, you get a discount for having a Starbuck mug, right? get three mugs |
