New job dont know what to do? Please help? |
Right now I sell cars, The dealer ship were I work is not the same however are traffic is way off, My montly incom is off way off its a good business but im not making money, recently I got a job offer in the morgatge busniess as a junior loan officer a position to learn the business it pays salery plus commision, it would be a new field but I wont spend day at work without getting paid I will get a check, but basied on the current home market I'm scared to switch. Will it be worth me swicthing I dont want to go from bad to worse sell cars is 100% commision the new job is salery plus commision based on leads i provide.... please help I have to start on the 10 of this month..........I have been at my job for three years in a comfort zone and scared to leave but not making any money................. You need to go where the money is at. Take the job that pays regularly.....in the big picture....steady income will make you more than a sporatic income. And ...if it shows to be the wrong decision....at least you will be making some money while you go to look for something else. Do some research on the types of loans the mortgage company offers, if its a sub prime marketer stay away. If you don't know what I'm talking about, now isn't the time for you to learn. Its a tough real estate market right now. Will you be working for a bank or a mortgage broker? It makes a difference, a bank being a better and more legitimate bet for the future. Right now we are going through some difficult interest times that will make all sales of big ticket item a tough sell, except for luxury items, they will always have a difficult-time-proof market. You might want to look into selling luxury cars. Selling cars is like real estate. If you try and raise kids on a commission only job, there will be plenty of peanut butter and jelly months. Long hours at car dealers, too. I feel for you. The mortgage industry is NOT in the kind of shape right now for you to even consider employment there. BUT if you want a job that's fun, you have benefits at,and you get the summers off, go drive a school bus. I'm serious. In the midwest, they PAY you to train for a CDL,they buy the license, then give you 12-14 an hr. You just have to be a decent driver and be 18. |
