I went from serving at a friendlys to a management position in blockbuster. Long story short, this job just isnt for me, i make much more money as a server. my store manager at BB loves me, and i can use as an amazing reference.
i went into a fridays on sat and spoke to the store manager- long story short, i 'wowed' him. he gave me his card and said to call tomorrow if i dont get a call first. the only thing i see working against me is they just hired 3 servers and the store manager doesnt know were the serving manager stands... im awesome as a server- and good at interviews... but do you think there is anything i can do to help ensure that i will at least be gien a shot? any restraunt hiring managers out there?
My experiences at TGIF is that you have to call them after an interview. There is a pretty good chance that the serving manager will not call. When I worked there, they would put all of the "prospective" applications in a pile and wait for them to call back. I think calling will increase your chances. The training at TGIF is ridiculous and normally lasts a week for class room and then 5-7 follow shifts. So you might not be taking tables for 3 weeks. As to the fact that they just hired 3 new servers that shouldn't hurt you to bad unless that store only starts training on the first. |
