Interview questions for an office position? |
I am not a problem solver and don't like researching or thinking "out of the box". So when it comes to a job interview and they ask me this, how do I honestly answer it? you can be honest about it in a positive way. but do not limit your abilities. Well it all depends on if they are looking for someone who does think outside the box. I don't think outside the box and I've never been asked this question. What I like to tell them is I always say if it isn't broke don't fix it. I like to see what was done before me and see if it works, if it doesn't then I look for a way to improve or change the way it was previously done, then I give examples where I've done it in the past. Surely you're a problem solver, everyone is. When you experience a problem in real life you try to figure out how you can solve your problem, surely you don't just close your eyes and pretend the problem will go away all by itself? If you aren't a problem solver then don't go into the property management field, It is a big problem waiting to be solved, and I love being a problem solver, fixing tenants problems by finding a way to get it solved quickly. Never tell an interviewer that you aren't either of those things, you're putting yourself down before you even get the job, you don't even know if you'd be required to think outside the box or even problem solve. The only problem you might be asked to solve is should you use white out liquid or white out tape. So tell them that you work well independantly, you are a self starter and you like to keep yourself busy, if you've caught up with your work you like to be organized so you know where everything is. blah blah blah. Good Luck think of what you CAN do, not what you CAN'T. You have to sell yourself, no one else will and you've only got one chance to make a first impression. |
