Why can't i get a freaken job? |
I worked at pizza hut for 3 months during the summer about a year ago. i worked as a waiter and the duties were to serve the costumers, answer phones, clean around, and use the computer to get the orders. I did have a problem the first week getting orders correct and prices like everyone, but then I got more experienced. This summer, I don't know, I made over 10 applications to work in a warehouse were they train you, store, and some restaurants. I don't if they contact my managers and managers say something bad about me or i just have bad luck. i never had any kinds of problems with them or anybody else. So what the hell is the problem? Just a wild guess here. If you fill out your applications in the same way you typed this question, there's your issue. Where's your capitalization of proper nouns, capitalization, period? Proper punctuation, use of spell check? When I was hiring people, inevitably I would have at least ten applications for one position. Let me tell you, anyone that filled out an application carelessly, illegibly, or incompletely got their application tossed in the trash and didn't even get a phone call to schedule an interview. I don't have time for that crap and lots of other people don't either. Fill out your application completely. Even if a certain field or question doesn't apply to you, write in N/A. Make sure to fill in every single space in the apllication, even if it's with an N/A. Also, when work history is requested, write it in, do not write in "see attached" and add a resume. Go ahead and submit the resume, but fill in all the fields that are asked of you. Lastly, print legibly, proofread, and use proper punctuation. If a person won't take a minute to double check their application for a job, ANY job, will they care at all while working? first of all, how old are you? if you are 18 or below, you have nothing to worry about; just keep trying...no i dont think you have bad luck...just keep applying! and be nice to other people so they can hire you... well good luck! I don't know, I have a hard time finding a job too. Maybe they just don't need you at the moment, or want someone with more experience so they don't have to train you. If you were a decent worker, your pizza hut manager shouldn't say anything bad about you. I worked at a place where they do background checks like calling your old work references, and most places refuse to answer the question, "was he a good worker?" Most work places are only allowed to answer if and how long someone has worked there because of company policy. So if you were a decent worker, that isn't the problem...try fixing your resume and if all else fails, find a temp agency in your local area and they will find you a job asap Register with online placement Agencies. They have direct contacts with compnies. They are free to join and a great place to find a job. Here is a list of some good websites offering such service free of cost, http://deadsmall.com/1VL Like they say "I feel ya" but listen I know it's frustrating and after a minute it feels like you're spitting in the wind. During my job search I found so many people looking for jobs. The other responses are good....don't give up....the key to success is persistence....the door will open eventually.... |
