Questions about Dietitian as future occupation? |
I am currently in my junior year of college as a computer science major. I pretty much hate it. I have been very interested in dietary science as I have fibromyalgia and have done a lot of research for my own health and love it. So, I guess its down to basic questions. 1) How hard is it too get a job in this field? 2) Is the pay decent? I hear 30,000/yr and that is just tooo low of pay for a bachlors degree. My fiance works factory/manual labor and gets $25,000. 3)Is the job it self draining/boring/stressful... With fibromyalgia I have to watch my stress levels sadly, so I doubt I would be effiecent in any fast paced managerial occupations with loads of responsibilities. 4) If you are in this occupation, how do you like it? Thank you! There is nothing worse than showing up for a job you hate. It becomes a job. When you enjoy your work, it becomes part of your life. Money is not everything, although important. There are many levels you can pursue in this area. You spoke of the science part. With your personal interest, you would be dedicated. From planning a school cafeteria menu to planning personal diets (consulting) for say, obesity, you will find your "home". Go for it, just don't give up.. |
