What should I tell HR directors about the yearly job hopping on my resume so that they won't worry I'll quit? |
On a phone interview I received a tongue lashing for my yearly job hopping for the past three years. How should I explain to HR directors and hiring managers that I'm not planning to leave them after working there a year? I've had longevity at other companies (4 years at one, 5 years at another) but lately switching companies has been the best way for me to earn more money. Tell the company exactly that, that "switching companies has been the best way...", and point out ur longevity, but the research you have done on their company has attracted you and you intend to make a career at this particular, yadda yadda yadda. ive had the job hopping issue arise and i fed them this and they lapped it up. good luck with the job search. Maybe say that you felt that you "were not employing your full potential at these companies and were looking for a challenge. The kind of challenge i am looking for is presented at the position that I am appliying and that you are looking for longevity in a satisfying position" hope this BS helps haha ;) ...there is no explaining it...you yourself just said you job hop for money...that shows absolutely no job loyalty and I would never hire you, period... That's the risk you take when you job hop. Did you plan on leaving prior jobs after one yr when you were hired? You've created a bad reputation for yourself, now you have to live with it Just tell them the truth. And, then let them decide whether or not to hire you. Good Luck! Maybe it's time to concern yourself with a career that you will enjoy long enough to make yourself some real money. |
