I am transerring to a PTF Postal Position and how do they let you know and how long does it take?

I am being transferred to a PTF postal position and wondered how long it takes and how do they notify you, by phone, by letter? Noone seems to know. Please help.

There are usually no set time limits on transfers. A lot will depend on how fast the personnel actions are completed. When I went back to craft from management I was notified by phone. When I was initially hired by the post office I was given less than a week's notice, but the notice was over the phone. I think every promotion or job change that I got, I was notified by phone with a letter following. Now if i was rejected, then it was generally just a letter.

We had a girl here have to wait months to transfer, but in her case, her office held her as long as possible and there were no specific job openings -- I work at a Processing and Distribution Center with 100's of employees.
the question is vague.are you already employed by the post office? Are you just changing offices? If your changing offices the receiving postmaster would have to approve the transfer.it would be based on your work record,attendance,accidents,et... Can't
help without knowing what your being transferred from
You'll probably be notified by mail. If you're a postal employee you should know how this works.
