I will be 14 in June. What jobs are there out there for me? |
I live in West Virginia, just so you know, because laws are different in different states. Can you help me with this? You can get a permit to work, and if I remember correctly, they would be available at your school. Also, at 14 I was babysitting a lot--I doubt towns in West Virginia pay what you could be making in larger urban areas--but there is never a shortage of tired parents who need a break. It's good experience, too, if you need references for jobs later on. At 14, my sister worked the counter at a local pizza place--not very glamorous, but she loved pizza and brought home cash. Also, if there are any small independently-owned stores or shops in your town--gourmet foods, souvenirs, photography/framing, pet shops, salons, arts and crafts--I don't know what you're into--sometimes owners need part time or after-school assistants. It may not pay a lot, but the experience will be invaluable, and it's a good way to meet people. Good luck! im fifteen. i think the best you can do is non-commercial jobs like babysitting and dog walking believe me, i know they sound stupid, but thats all you got. i hated them too. and sometimes im not even old enough to work where i want to. as long as you get a workers permit from your school any like, waitressing or hostess job, or something simple like htat should be easy to get adn its like, totally legal im really not sure but you should be able to look the information up on your states website, just search WV labor laws and then look for minor working laws. Also you should be able to ask at school because im sure you'll have to have a work permit from school, well im not sure in Wisconsin you have to but Im not sure! Good luck! |
