What all qualifies towards the experience requirement for the CFP/CFA?

Can someone who does not currently work in the financial planning/analyst field still get the experience (part time non profit/charitable work for example)? Im a full time engineer, less than a year away from completing my MBA and would like to eventually move into this field.

Hi, from my understanding your engineering work doesn't qualify for the required four years of work-experience; have a read for yourself and see what you can make out. You would surely have enough College experience if you are on the brink of finising a MBA. I encourage you to have a read of the following links

Hope it helps
