I need suggestions... please comment!?

I need help starting a non-profit cab service, In memory of the Tiderman's who were killed Thursday night in Oklahoma City, OK by my cousin who had been drinking & driving! Four people died in that fiery crash Thursday night. My cousin Brian, his friend Josh, an 11 year old boy Justin, and his father Mike Tiderman, an Oklahoma City Firemen.

I'm trying to write up a purposal for those who have an interest in sponsering my non-profit cab service.

There is currently one cab company in Oklahoma City that offers their free services to people who have been drinking, however it's only avalible on Holidays.

I will be offering my services every Thursday, Friday & Saturday night.

I'm somewhat speachless and shocked to hear this horrifing news that has devistated my inter family. So, any ideas or suggestions for writing this purposal is dearly appericated.

First I applaud your courage in finding a solution. I think you have a great idea.

Seattle has such a program, called Last Call Seattle. The website is below. I remember this program started after similar circumstances and encourage you to contact them about starting a similar program. This was affiliated with a local hospital, so there is a place to start.

Here is how it got started:
"Last Call is a partnership between the Harborview Injury Prevention & Research Center (HIPRC) and Public Health鈥擲eattle & King County.

Funding and other support for Last Call comes from a variety of sources including the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), partner clubs and bars, and the University of Washington.

Last Call began with a three-year grant from the CDC with the following mission: reduce alcohol-related crashes by designing, implementing, and evaluating a designated driver and safe-ride home program."

Good luck and I hope your plan comes real! Source(s): www.lastcallseattle.org

I have heard of a service where the volunteers use scooters. They drive the drinker home in his/her own car and then ride the scooter back to their base.
Contact the Chamber of commerce or OU extension, they will guide you on writing a proposal, also, google proposal writing, there are some helpful websites. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have seen the news too since I live in the city. I'm truly sorry for this tradgedy and commend you on trying to turn this into something positive.
that was your cousin?
justin was a good kid.
yes, i know him personally.

i cant believe that hes gone.
it brings me to tears every time.

just thought i would share.

but i think it takes a lot of courage to try and fix it.
i think you have a lot of good ideas presented here.

good luck. let me know how it goes.
I am so sorry for your loss. I, too read of the devistating story of the father losing his life and his son along with 2 other men. I never heard or read the story of what caused the accident and didn't know it was drinking involved. What a tradgic loss for both families. I admire your courage and think what you are establishing is a great idea. I have some friends associated with a limo service that may be willing to also get involved. You can forward me the information showing the cause of accident being alcohol related and I will present this proposal to them and request they contact you with assistance. Good luck establishing this organization, although it will not bring your cousin back or the other family, it will certainly help others in the future. I hope I hear from you and will do what I can to help.
That is really a good thing you are trying to do because of what happened with your cousin and friend. I know the Tiderman's personally, and it's a horrible thing that happened. Your family will have to live with their loss of your cousin, plus the guilt of what they caused by there stupidity of drinking and driving.
Good luck with what you are trying to get started, and I will forward this email to people out here in Tuttle, to pass the word around. May God be with the Tiderman family, and yours as well.
