Do DC Gov't employees have the same immunity from wage garnishment as fed govt employees? |
I AM TRYING TO FIND OUT IF, IN FACT, EMPLOYEES OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA GOVERNMENT, ARE CLASSIFIED AS FEDERAL EMPLOYEES. I'm a Child Support Enforcement Officer. I can put a garnishment on your wages whether you are federal, state, local, military, non-profit, publicly held, anybody! On a good day I can get a lien on Social Security benefits. Hey do me a favor and become self employed or better yet become a contractor for the government (including the D.C. government) and I will take 100% of your income. Anybody with a court ordered judgment can put a lien on your bank, stocks, home and income. You can run but you can't hide. Yes they are, but they can have their wages garnish too. Federal civil service, military, etc. Federal employee does not prevent creditors from seeking a judgment on their wages for debt the legally owe. |
