How to become a non profit organization 501 c3?

How to become a non profit organization 501 c3?

Truthfully, don't. You don't need it. Find some group with a current 501(c)(3) and ask them to sponsor you. Otherwise, the paperwork is such a hassle that you might never end up doing the work. But if you feel you have to, go to www.irs.gov and get the paperwork and see what it involves.
You don't need and attorney and you can do it yourself. The first thing you need to do is get your non-profit name registered with the Secretary of State. By doing that first, it makes it a lot easier to deal with all the paperwork. Make the IRS your best friend. Call them every day with any question you have about the paperwork. At first glance it looks overwhelming. It isn't. Take it one step at a time. If there is a group around, like the one you want to create, look over their bylaws and constitution. Get ideas from them. It's really rather simple; just time consuming. If it's what you really want to do, go for it, enjoy yourself and create it!
My source is myself as I created a wonderful non-profit.
