Social Services? Help!?

I had a friend who was in social services. She got out of it 3 years ago. She has a job, living on her own and travels, but she still gets state checks. I started working for the Government that handles social services on a different floor from me. Is it allowed that she is still getting those checks or do I have to report it? What happens when someone leaves the system?

You have to decide what's more important to you. Is it loyalty to your friend or ethics and integrity?
It's not about being "loyal" to that friend, it's about doing the right thing for those who really need that money and doing the right thing by teaching her that she's abusing the system. I would turn her in based on the fact that she is doing well and should not rely on a freebe check. Hell, I sure would like a check from the government every month, wouldn''t everyone?
they could be retirement checks my best bet is to MYOB (mind your own business)
It depends. Does she have children? If she does she may be receiving child support she is entitled to from the District Attorney's office in the form of a state check.

If she does not have children then I have no idea as to why she would still be receiving checks. If this is the case, then it is your responsibility as a taxpayer and human being to inform the appropriate authorities. Those checks are our taxpayer dollars and I want those dollars to go to honest people who need it.
She shouldn't be getting aid. Do what is right and don't worry about the rest. Friend or no friend..think about the people who are really in need and do what you need to.
