I work for a non profit agency. Can I be told grant funds don't exist but they hire someone else? |
I am being replaced by someone who has a political favor owed to them. I knew of my replacement prior to the interview process. Which was a farce as the Executive Director had already made the decision to hire this person. I have positive feedback from my peers and mid management. I this legal based on most of the grant funds being from federal and state dollars? Yes. Do you know how this person is getting paid? If you have no knowledge, how do you prove it. Plus, depending on the state you live in, an employer can get rid of you "at-will". Meaning, you can be let go for anything at anytime, no explanation is required. It doesn't matter if the funding comes from the state or feds. What i will do, i will review my employment with this organization. I will write all my positive inputs and count all my negatives. If positive weighs more, i definitely will try and protest. I will count how many years i served, how many good things happen to the company after I sit, and what good changes did I contributed that the company has so many revenues from the change. Are you really qualified? Educational background? Welcome to the real world. If you are not in a union or do not have a contract there is nothing you can do. |
