Any one have any tips on "Headhunters" in Dubai UAE? |
This whole "headhunter" sector is a tough one. There are thousands out there advertising the same position. You can email CV's and great coverletters for monthes and never recieve anyform of reply. And whats worse is "Headhunters" advertise "Posible vacancies" which gets the applicants hopes up. Are there any "Headhunters" out there that are acutally approachable and will sit down with you to discuss a position? Its very frustrating, and though I understand how competitive the sector is there must be some credible firms out there that would entertain a sit down meeting. Hawkeye, tricky question. As you mentioned, the whole headhunter sector is pretty tough and most of them just want to fill a vacancy once it is available. As mostly in the Gulf, people are thinking last minute. Sustainable and continuous development is not the strength of most people living and working here. If you can make a quick profit, you do it. If it takes a bit longer, people will show much less interest. I was headhunted from Europe by the local branch of an international headhunter and they had a position for a specialist which needed being filled instantly. Ever since I arrived here, I signed up with further headhunters, giving them access to my CV and trying to network with them. However the fact that I have a job (a short term contract renewed several times already) generally extinguishes their immediate interest. What I can recommend to you as a starting point is to check for the headhunters who advertise on monster Gulf. Checking their websites gives you an insight in the sectors they might be of assistance for you. Apart from that, the more interesting your CV on monster sounds, the higher the chances are for a good job here. But if you are not available instantly and would 'just' like to plan your personal future and have an existing contract, I cannot encourage you. Sorry for being direct ;-) |
