What do school bus drivers do between the morning pickup and afternoon dropoff?

Just curious. Are they hired part-time to only work the early morning and mid-afternoons and the occasional field trips? Or, are they salaried and have other duties when they're not driving schoolkids around?

I've had friends who drove school bus. They generally went and took care of their own business during the time between their rounds. One lady gave sewing lessons in between rounds. I know because I took classes from her. Others go home and do their housework. Lots of "housewives" driving school bus, by the way.
they go home and do their other neccesary chores such as house cleaning and grocery shopping and etc . good luck .
they answer thier wife that where were they
I know one that would go home and take a nap
they eat lunch, and wash the bus, go to meetings, clean up the bus, record the photos the video took on the morning runs.
They go home for a few hours and then go back to take the kids home. You have to bid to do field trips.
Some have other part time jobs such as being a barber, baker or beautician.
