What is a good entry-level job for someone with an economics degree with no experience? Thanks.? |
I'm looking for a job that is entry-level, willing to relcoate anywhere in North America or the Caribbean. Preferably working for the government or a non-profit. Too bad you didn't ask this question while you were still in college! The worst thing to be is out of college and no experience in the thing that you went for college for! (I know, I lived it!) Yes, www.idealist.org is a wonderful site to look for non-profit jobs. Also, depending on what you're interested in, you could work in the US Peace Corps (if you're American) or somewhere else in the federal government. You could intern at a company or try to get work at an institution of higher learning or a think tank (while you're getting your Master's). It really depends on what you really want to do 'cause there's a whole world of things out there! You might want to look in the Occupational Outlook Handbook (www.bls.gov/oco) for ideas on types of jobs available to Econ graduates, then figure out where you want to live and look for companies, non-profits, and government jobs in those areas. Of course, if you're American and trying to go to the Caribbean, then it isn't that easy - unless you are a dual citizen. Otherwise, you'd have to get a work visa etc. Check out idealist.org, which has lots of great nonprofit jobs you'd be qualified for. |
