Are government IT jobs hard to come by?

Are government IT jobs hard to come by?

Not really. You have to perform well in the interview. The government will hire anyone with a degree. They usually don't care what your degree is in.
I have one! and this is my second one. I have not found this to be difficult to get into but maybe I was just 'lucky'. Government is tough for other reasons. They will hire you but can you STAND it????? thats the question. Remember govt can be at alot of levels, Univerisities are goverment, health authorities, all kinds of stuff is govt.
You'll have to have a degree to even get in the door. It doesn't really matter what your degree is in. In my particular agency, they don't hire off the street for IT jobs, but promote employees from within into them.
