How do you apply for jobs @ USA Jobs.com, and have they ever called you back? Applying for jobs on USAJobs.com is easy. The job announcement will tell you if you can apply online or if you have to send in or FAX your resume. Most jobs you can apply for online, and it's easy to set up an online resume. Just follow the prompts. Where you may have difficulty is if they're looking for specific experience and they have a section on the online application where they ask you a bunch of questions along the lines of "What is your experience level in handling this type of task?" Those get to be a pain. Applying is easy -- GETTING a Federal job is tougher. People who have served in the military automatically get 5 point Veterans preference (10 points if you were medically separated for a disability), and you're often competing against people who already work for the Federal Government or former government employees who were displaced due to job cuts or moving, and those people get top priority. My wife has applied for at least 20 Federal jobs and only got a call back on one for an interview, and she's applying under the Americans with Disabilities Act. So don't be surprised if you apply for Federal jobs and don't get a call back -- competition is heavy. Source(s): I work for U.S. Customs and Border Protection Just sign up online, post your resume. Unfortunately, I have never gotten a call back....but it could just be me?? I think so many people apply that way it is hard to filter out the resumes. |
