What are physical requirements for a government job?
Most job descriptions have physical requirements and they are on the job description. Each job is different. Office workers even have some physical requirements such as how long they have to sit, work quietly, stand, lift etc. According to the Americans with Disability Act, employers are required to make "reasonable accommodations" for someone who cannot meet the physical requirements. There are some jobs where the accommodations cannot be met, but the employer must be able to demonstrate why. i.e. it is probably not possible for someone in a wheelchair to be an FBI agent.

Retired HR Manager Most government jobs don't have physical requirements. The ones that do involve law enforcement (U.S. Marshal, Customs officer, ICE agent, FBI or CIA agent, etc.) Those jobs require you to have a physical exam and take some type of strength/endurance test BEFORE you will be considered for the job. But if you just want to be a network administrator for the government or something like that, there is no physical exam or strength/endurance test.
