How can I start a not for profit and what is the difference in a not for profit and a non profit?

I would greatly aperciate any how to information Thanks

The difference between a profit and nonprofit is basically the tax deduction status. The filing fees for both are the same. Also, nonprofits seem to qualify for more free money such as grants and some loans, more so than profit orgs. Start with the business plan. You can get all the instructions you need at the Small Business Administration website...I believe the address is www.sba.org. You can get all of the IRS ein number information from the IRS' site...www.irs.gov. And to incorporate within your state, check out your state's website and search incorporation or nonprofit upstart.

You start any type of business the same way...filing with your state. The profit status comes in with the IRS, after you have registered your business with your state.
