Licensed Mental Health Counselor license question: how to transfer license?

I have a masters in counseling, and am working on my two year licensure program in Massachusetts for Licensed Mental Health Counselors. I plan on moving to Florida right after the two years, and wanted to know what the license transfer process/ requirements would be. I heard it was easy for lots of states, but difficult with Florida?

I hold a MA in Counseling degree and retired with a LPC, NCC. Unfortunately, states do not share reprocity in counseling, like nursing degrees/credentials do. New Mexico is one of the most difficult (due to politics) boards to deal with. However, I have not heard about Florida.

The ACA did not want the licensure boards to split-level the licensure, but the boards decided to (more $).

I recommend you contact the Florida state board directly for their assistance. Good luck.

Best wishes. Source(s): Life
That's correct. Fla. is tough . You'll still have to take state boards to get licensed here.
I'm a Fl. CBHT & CNA
